Jocelyn Chouinard is a Registered Massage Therapist who currently practices Massage
and Manual Therapy in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and instructs Continuing Education
Courses in Advanced Massage and Manual Therapy Techniques
Jocelyn’s career background includes 40 years experience as an international instructor and performer of dance and movement, as well as a Bachelor of Arts, University of British Columbia.
An accomplished registered massage therapist, and member of CMT of B.C., MTWPAM, ARMTS, NHP of Canada , Jocelyn received her basic 2,500 hours of training at the highly respected West Coast College of Massage Therapy, Vancouver, BC. After graduation, Jocelyn worked as a locum therapist for 5 years in Vancouver and through B.C., as she pursued extensive post graduate studies in Muscle Energy Technique, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Visceral Manipulation, Neuromuscular Therapy, Strain/ Counterstrain and Trager Technique, as well as full Certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
Jocelyn also lived in Calgary for 8 years, during which time she was a full-time instructor and clinic supervisor at The Rocky Mountain Academy, and later at Mount Royal Massage Therapy Training Institute. Eventually she opened private practice and launched New Horizons in Healing; her series of post-grad workshops in advanced massage and manual therapy techniques, all of which have been approved for continuing education credits by the MTAA, AMTWP, OCMT and CMT of B.C.
Jocelyn feels very fortunate to have received such excellent training in a wide variety of therapeutic techniques from some of the most accomplished and respected educators in their fields. Her training and clinical experience have revealed to her that, while all of these techniques have undisputed therapeutic benefits, the key to efficient and effective therapy with long lasting results is the skillful integration of these techniques.
She is very happy to bring her personal approach to Integrative Therapy to her new private practice in her new home of beautiful Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
